Scope of Services

The defending and institution of legal proceedings by Counsels from the Division occurs at the Magistrate Court, High Court, Industrial Court and Court of Appeal levels; to the exclusion of Customary Courts, Town Councils, District Councils and the Land Boards.

The Civil Litigation Division also shares the responsibility of providing legal opinions to Government Departments on administrative and constitutional matters as well as on the full range of subjects covered by the respective departments with other Divisions of the Attorney General’s Chambers.
