The Directorate of Public Prosecutions is headed by the Director of Public Prosecutions appointed in terms of Section 51A of the Constitution of Botswana. Our Primary mandate is the prosecution of criminal cases before all courts of the land, criminal applications and appeals arising from criminal litigation.

The staff of the DPP consists of the professional cadre which represents the State in all criminal matters and at all court levels within the Republic of Botswana.

The Directorate operates from the Headquarters in Gaborone and also has regional offices in Francistown, Maun , Palapye, Lobatse and Selebi Phikwe.
